Fashion discovery startup Slayd raises Rs 1.5 crore to scale private-label business as it crosses 2 lakh users

Gurugram-based fashion discovery platform Slayd has raised Rs 1.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by ajvc, an early-stage investment fund founded by Aviral Bhatnagar.

The funding round values Slayd at about Rs 16.66 crore after the investment.

Slayd said it will use the fresh capital to expand its team and scale its private-label business, Slayd Originals.

Founded by IIT Roorkee alumni Sparsh Jain, Harsh Porwal and Kumar Prasang, Slayd operates a platform that brings together fashion products from more than 300 marketplaces and D2C brands, allowing users to discover products across different online shopping platforms.

According to the startup, about 1 lakh new products are added to the platform each month. Its proprietary model evaluates products using more than eight signals to identify emerging fashion trends.

The platform has crossed 200,000 users, with month-one retention of more than 40%. Its most active users average more than 10 sessions a month, while the system currently identifies more than 2,000 products as emerging bestsellers.

Slayd also offers personalised feeds and theme-based collections aimed at helping users browse products from different fashion brands and e-commerce platforms in one place.

“India sees more than 1 lakh new apparel designs launched every month across hundreds of fragmented e-commerce platforms. Yet shoppers still have to navigate multiple platforms to discover what’s actually trending. Slayd is building the discovery layer for this fragmented market,” co-founder Sparsh Jain said.

The startup has also expanded into private-label fashion through Slayd Originals, which was launched in beta earlier this year and is currently generating about 1,000 orders a month.

Insights from product and trend data collected through the discovery platform are also used to identify styles that could be developed under the private label.

“Our advantage is that we can identify what shoppers want before building it ourselves. By controlling the design and supply chain, we can bring high-demand styles to customers at better prices, with better quality and a more consistent shopping experience,” co-founder Harsh Porwal said.
