Delhi-based B2B traveltech startup TravClan has raised $5 million in funding from Flipkart and investment firm August One, along with debt financing from Trifecta Capital.
With this round, TravClan has raised more than $11 million to date from investors including Leo Capital, The Ventures, Hashed, August One, Flipkart and a group of angel investors.
The startup said it will use the capital to deepen its global supply network, expand its technology and AI capabilities, and strengthen destination operations across key international markets.
What TravClan does
TravClan sells to travel agents and travel businesses rather than to travellers. Its platform brings together supply, technology and fulfilment, and covers pricing, itinerary creation, bookings, payments, customer communication and on-ground support for flights, hotels, activities and international holiday packages.
The startup signs contracts directly with hotels and activity partners and runs its own ground teams across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and India. The startup said, it provides end-to-end destination services across more than 18 markets.
According to the startup, more than 15,000 travel agents across India use the platform, and it processes more than $100 million in annual travel sales. Roughly 40% of its business now comes from Tier II and Tier III cities.
“The next generation of travel software will not just help sellers search faster. It will increasingly execute work for them,” said Arun Bagaria, co-founder and CEO of TravClan.
“Our ambition is to make TravClan the infrastructure that any travel business can build on instead of having to recreate the entire travel stack itself. This capital allows us to invest aggressively behind that opportunity,” he added.
Why investors are betting on supply
The investors’ comments centre on TravClan’s choice to contract directly with suppliers and run its own ground operations instead of spending on consumer acquisition.
“TravClan has built a capital efficient model by owning supply rather than buying demand, and distributing through agents in underserved markets,” said Sahil Kukreja, Vice President at Trifecta Capital.
Rajul Garg, founder and managing partner of Leo Capital, which has backed the company since its seed round, said “We backed them when owning supply looked like the slow way to build. It has compounded in two ways, better prices, and a trip that actually works when something goes wrong. In travel, whoever owns the supply owns the economics.”
Flipkart’s interest
Flipkart’s participation follows its announcement on 5 October that it had picked up a minority stake in TravClan. The e-commerce company said the investment would strengthen the international travel offerings on Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel, its two travel businesses.
“Investing in TravClan strengthens our ability to offer international holiday packages while deepening our travel capabilities,” Nishant Verman, SVP of Corporate Development and Partnerships at Flipkart, said at the time.
Funding history
TravClan was founded in October 2018 by Arun Bagaria, Chirag Agrawal and Ashish Thapliyal, who had earlier held leadership roles at OYO, TravelTriangle and Cars24.
Leo Capital led its seed round in August 2019. In September 2021, the company raised $2.2 million in a pre-Series A round co-led by Leo Capital and TheVentures, a Korea and Singapore-based venture capital firm. At the time, TravClan said it had grown tenfold since the pandemic began.
In April 2022, it raised $4.7 million in another pre-Series A round led by Hashed Emergent Fund, with angel investors including Cars24 co-founders Vikram Chopra and Mehul Agrawal and former Trip.com co-founder Travis Katz. The company then said it had 15,000-plus travel agents on the platform and was targeting $500 million in gross merchandise value by the end of FY23.
August One first invested in January 2026, when TravClan announced its expansion into Europe. The startup said then that it would set up local operations in the region, launch VOLT, its API-first platform for high-volume travel businesses, in European markets and build partnerships with local suppliers. It also said hotels and holidays together made up more than 80% of its revenue.
The company is building on rising outbound travel from India. Indian nationals made more than 30.89 million departures in 2024, according to data compiled by Statista.
