Noida-based fitness startup OBSESS raises Rs 3 crore just 8 months after its launch

Noida-based fitness platform OBSESS has raised about Rs 3 crore in an angel round from Centricity co-founder Pushpendra Singh, Amit Goel and Harshit Vij.

The startup said the funding will be used to strengthen partnerships, expand its ecosystem and use technology to build a connected fitness experience.

The round comes about eight months after Tushar Sharma and Yash Kumar launched OBSESS in March 2026.

What OBSESS does

OBSESS is building an integrated fitness platform that connects users with gyms, sports facilities, professional trainers, nutrition solutions and fitness products.

The founders are targeting fragmentation in India’s fitness and wellness industry, where gyms, trainers, sports facilities, nutrition experts and fitness brands often operate on their own.

The startup runs a technology-driven marketplace that brings sports venues, fitness centres, coaches, nutrition and wellness brands and related services together in one place.

The business is split into separate partner products. Obsess Play Partner lets users discover and book sports venues, and rewards them through features such as Obsess Coins.

Obsess Gym Partner gives gym operators digital and operational tools to run their facilities. Obsess Event Partner offers ticketing, registration and participant management for sporting events, including marathons and cycling competitions.

The market OBSESS is going after

India’s commercial fitness market is small relative to its population but is expected to grow quickly. According to the India Fitness Market Report 2025 by Deloitte India and the Health & Fitness Association (HFA), released in September 2025, the market was worth about Rs 16,200 crore in 2024 with 12.3 million members.

According to the report, the market will reach Rs 37,700 crore by 2030, growing at about 15% a year, with members rising to 23.3 million. That would take membership penetration to 1.7%. The top 10 cities, led by Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, account for 56% of revenue.

It also said nearly 820 million Indians between 18 and 62 years of age remain completely inactive.

Competition in sports venue booking

On the sports booking side, OBSESS goes up against players such as Hudle, which connects players with more than 2,000 venues across 60 Indian cities.

Hudle raised $2.5 million in a Series A round led by Sky Impact Capital in July 2025, with Physis Capital, Atrium Ventures and angel investors including Mahesh Bhupathi taking part. It had raised Rs 7 crore in a pre-Series A round co-led by IPV and Sky Impact Capital in April 2024.
