Delhi NCR-based lab-grown diamond jewellery startup Zinara has raised Rs 3.61 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), with participation from Nine Jewellery, actor Nikita Dutta and other angel investors.
The startup said it will use the fresh capital to expand its team, increase marketing activities and strengthen its supply-chain infrastructure as it seeks to grow its business across India.
Founded by IIT Delhi alumni Harshit Abrol and Sumanyu Vyas, Zinara focuses on making diamond jewellery suitable for everyday wear rather than limiting it to weddings and special occasions.
It offers contemporary jewellery designs made with lab-grown diamonds and 18K gold vermeil, which consists of gold plating over a sterling silver base.
Zinara’s business and growth
Zinara operates through a digital-first business model, serving customers across India with jewellery designed for daily use.
According to the startup, its portfolio has grown to more than 400 designs, and it has crossed Rs 1 crore in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
Zinara’s official website also advertises lifetime buyback and exchange options, along with lifetime free replating services for its jewellery.
Lab-grown diamonds are produced in controlled environments using technological processes such as high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) and chemical vapour deposition (CVD).
Zinara is seeking to capitalise on what its investors describe as growing consumer interest in contemporary jewellery designs, lab-grown diamonds and more accessible prices.
What did the founders and investors say?
Vinay Bansal, co-founder of Inflection Point Ventures, said the investment reflects changes in India’s jewellery market, including greater acceptance of lab-grown diamonds and demand for accessible pricing.
“Zinara is operating at the intersection of three shifts which is shaping the future of jewellery consumption in India: the rise of the design-conscious consumer, the growing acceptance of lab-grown diamonds, and the demand for accessible price points,” Bansal said.
He added that Zinara’s focus on combining everyday jewellery with personal style and accessible pricing was a key factor in the company’s positioning.
Harshit Abrol, co-founder and CEO of Zinara, said the startup aims to make diamond jewellery a regular part of consumers’ lives rather than something purchased only for special occasions.
“We believe the next chapter of diamond jewellery in India will be about making it part of everyday life, not just reserved for special occasions,” Abrol said.
Abrol said the participation of IPV and Nine Jewellery will bring entrepreneurial expertise and manufacturing capabilities to Zinara. He added that the startup plans to develop its team, products and brand infrastructure as it seeks to reach more consumers across India.
