EDT, the Mumbai-based design and technology brand, has raised $2.4 million in an oversubscribed Pre-Series A funding round led by existing investor Sauce.
The round also saw participation from existing angel investors, along with new backers Alteria Capital, Raul Rai of Nicobar, Shibam Das and Arindam Paul of Atomberg, Ajith Pai of Delhivery and Anushree Tainwala of Samsonite.
The startup said the fresh capital will go towards building up festive season inventory across its sales channels, launching new products, and strengthening its growth, supply chain, brand and product teams.
Alongside the fundraise, EDT is entering beauty-tech with the launch of SUKI, its first hair care device, marking its move beyond kitchen appliances into personal care.
Founded in 2025 by consumer-tech entrepreneur Naiyya Saggi and industrial designer Vyasateja Rao, EDT currently sells two products, LUMA, a non-toxic air fryer oven, and FLOW, a kettle positioned around hydration and wellness.
According to the startup, LUMA is the top-selling premium non-toxic air fryer in its category. The brand claims to have grown quickly in its first seven months, with its business on Amazon scaling close to seven times between March and July 2026.
Its products are listed on Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Croma and FoodStories, besides its own direct-to-consumer site. EDT also said it was the first, and youngest, brand in its category to be onboarded by Croma.
EDT describes SUKI as a “Care-Dryer,” built around its patent-pending CareDry algorithm. The startup claims the device combines a heat and airflow cycle with plasma ions, and said it has been clinically tested to improve hair strength and integrity by 110% over repeated use, with reduced static, breakage and frizz compared to a regular fixed-heat hair dryer.
Naiyya Saggi, Co-founder and CEO of EDT, said, “We started EDT with a simple conviction: everyday consumer appliances must be reimagined for the realities of a modern premium consumer…SUKI is the first device in our next step to bringing Intelligent Care into beauty and build our Intelligent Beauty portfolio with our patent pending algorithms clinically tested to transform hair over time.”
Manu Chandra, Founder and Managing Partner at Sauce, said, “EDT has demonstrated one of the strongest new-age brand trajectories I have seen in recent times, with healthy business fundamentals, strong consumer traction and an exceptional level of customer trust and love… We doubled down because we believe EDT has the opportunity to build far beyond individual appliance categories and create a broader consumer design and technology platform spanning the home, kitchen and personal care for the modern consumer.”
EDT said it has three more product launches planned across home, kitchen and beauty-tech, with its next phase focused on research and development, expanding distribution across channels, building its community, and selective team hiring.
